Sidney Street Siege, 1911
Following the murder of four policeman, foreign anarchists were trapped in a Whitechapel house from where they fought back firing at police and soldiers. Mr Winston Churchill, then the Home Secretary, is the left of the Scots Guards and police. The Cockney on the roof above him is more interested in the photographer. The anarchists eventually perished in the flames of the burning building.
